These terms govern your use of 99chess.com (“99chess”, “the service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
99chess is a chess training service: you can play against an engine and other people, solve puzzles, import your games from chess.com or lichess, and receive engine and AI-generated analysis and training programs. The service is provided free of charge; some AI features consume credits (see below).
Certain AI features are metered with credits. Credits are a virtual accounting unit, not money: they have no cash value, are not transferable and are not refundable. Free credit allowances, prices and the set of features that consume credits may change as the product evolves.
Your games and training data remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to store, analyse and display them to you — that is what the product does. Public game archives you link from chess.com or lichess are fetched under those platforms’ terms.
The service, its design, texts and software are ours or our licensors’. Do not copy or resell them.
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties. Analysis and coaching texts are automated and can be wrong; use your own judgement, especially in rated games elsewhere. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of a free service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.
If these terms change materially, we will update this page and the date above. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
